Dr. Doerner has trained and practiced at some of our nation's most respected medical centers.  He graduated from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, and from there went on to complete specialized training in the care of adults and adolescents at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in North Carolina.  Dr. Doerner is board certified in internal medicine.

 

Dr. Doerner has been practicing medicine since 2001.  He is on the medical staff at THR Presbyterian Hospital of Allen.

 

Dr. Doerner is a strong proponent of preventive medicine.  "Preventive medical care saves lives," he says.  "If we catch disease processes early enough through screenings and yearly exams, we can often effect a cure or prevent complications."  Dr. Doerner also promotes healthy lifestyle choices.  He believes that "Through good nutrition and other lifestyle modifications we can prevent many common diseases from occurring in the first place."

 

Dr. Doerner was born and raised in Houston, Texas.  Prior to his career in medicine, Dr. Doerner was a music historian with a specialty in German romantic opera.  When away from his practice, Dr. Doerner enjoys Indian Guides campouts with his son, working in the yard, and family outings.  He is an active member of Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church.
